Imagine finding design data in seconds, sharing digital prototyping information securely with team members across the world, and knowing who revised designs and when. Autodesk® Vault software manages data creation, simulation, and documentation processes for design and engineering workgroups. Enjoy more control over design data with revision management capabilities, and quickly find and reuse design data, for easier management of your design and engineering information.
AutoCAD®, AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Electrical, and Autodesk® Inventor® include integrated data management with different levels of the base Autodesk Vault technology, which serves as a centralized application for storing and managing design data and related documents. The rest of the Vault family consists of Vault Workgroup, adding revision management and security functionality, Vault Collaboration, providing the scalability needed to support larger workgroups and multiple sites, and Vault Professional, which helps extend data that is managed by Vault to the extended organization.
Autodesk Vault Workgroup helps designs teams easily create and share Digital Prototyping information by securely organizing, managing, and tracking data from a central location. Design teams can administrate access and control, allowing team-based development across disciplines to quickly find and track the when, why, and who of design changes. In addition, Vault Workgroup delivers revision and lifecycle control processes directly in the design application, which results in faster cycle times and better-quality engineering data.
Autodesk Vault Collaboration has all the functionality of Autodesk Vault Workgroup and includes an advanced administrative toolset with the capabilities to manage large workgroups. Connect workgroups distributed across multiple sites, share designs with downstream consumers across the company, and graphically report and analyze your design data.
Autodesk Vault Professional includes all the functionality of Autodesk Vault Collaboration, while also allowing the collaboration and sharing of Digital Prototyping information across extended organizations. Take full advantage of advanced functionality by giving design departments the tools they need to track engineering change orders, manage bills of materials (BOMs), and promote earlier collaboration through integration to manufacturing business systems.
The key area of focus for the Autodesk Vault 2011 family of products is deeper CAD and Autodesk design tools integrations with the power to use a heads-up display and data mapping, enhancements that allow better connections between global workgroups, API enhancements to support client-side customization and automated events using the job server, and customer-driven usability improvements to help users increase their productivity.
